The article is a critical case study of the Lithuanian radio-electronics sector, which explores why some dismissed workers adapt successfully to the changing structure of an economy, while others remain trapped in low-quality jobs and experience deskilling. It focuses on adaptation trajectories of workers dismissed from four bankrupt radio-electronics factories in Lithuania. The transition from planned into market economy gives important insight into how the digital transformation should be managed.
